What is WP Text Ads?
WP Text Ads is a WordPress plugin that lets you sell text link ads directly to advertisers. This means you pay no commissions and get paid instantly. At the same time, advertisers save money from lower ad rates.
In one sentence, tell me why I should use WP Text Ads?
Because you have always suspected that you can earn much more profits from your blog if you can control your advertising campaigns, and WP Text Ads does that for you at no cost.
Will Google penalize my site for selling text link ads sold with WP Text Ads?
No. Google penalizes sites that artificially boosts another site's PageRank. Using WP Text Ads, this will not happen because all outgoing text links contain the rel="nofollow" attribute. This assures Google that you are not involved in any SEO hanky-panky.
How do the 2 editions of WP Text Ads differ?
WP Text Ads Free Edition is limited to displaying 2 home page ads, 2 blog-wide ads and 2 per-post ads. It stays free forever and should earn you tidy profits.
The Standard Edition removes these limitations, so that there is no limit to how much you can earn with WP Text Ads. Other than that, there is no difference between both editions.
But great profits come with a great sacrifice! WP Text Ads Standard Edition isn't Free, erm.. free.
Do I hear someone saying it's too expensive?
How many ads can I show with WP Text Ads Free Edition?
The cool thing about WP Text Ads is that you can choose to sell ads in individual posts, in the home page or blog-wide.
You can sell only 2 home page ads and 2 blog-wide ads. But you can sell 2 per-post ads in post A, another 2 per-post ads in post B and so on.
Therefore, you can sell a total of 2 (home page) + 2 (blog-wide) + (Total posts x 2) ads in your blog.
Chances are you'll sell-out your home page and blog-wide ads very quickly, and some of your more popular posts will sell-out the per-post ads quickly too. That's when you ought to consider upgrading to WP Text Ads Standard Edition to remove these limitations.
How do advertisers find me?
To give your blog more visibility to attract advertisers, you can join the Marketplace. There's plenty of information about the Marketplace here.
What do I need to use WP Text Ads?
You need WordPress version 2.0 or higher. If you wish to use the WP Text Ads widgets, you should also install the WordPress Widgets plugin.
Does WP Text Ads run on WordPress MU?
Yes. But the plugin must be installed in the 'plugins', and not the 'mu-plugins' subdirectory.
When should I buy WP Text Ads?
When you have more advertisers than WP Text Ads Free Edition can handle! Upgrading to WP Text Ads Standard Edition removes the limitations of the Free Edition, and then you can profit as much as your advertisers are willing to pay.
To ensure you have no risk, your purchase is backed by an unconditional 180 days money back guarantee.
How many licenses should I buy to run WP Text Ads on 2 blogs?
You'll need 2 licenses. As a rule, you need as many licenses as you have blogs. Each license has its own unique license key.
This applies to WordPress MU users too - each blog on WordPress MU needs its own license.
At this point in time, there is no discount for multiple purchases.
WP Text Ads is too expensive. Can you sell it cheaper?
I could. But should I since you can profit far more than the price of buying WP Text Ads?
Suppose you sell a home page ad for $10 per month, a blog-wide ad for $20 per month and 3 per-post ads for $2 per month. That's an income of $36 per month, which is 100% profit since you pay no commissions. As WP Text Ads Standard Edition currently costs $127, your return on investment for purchasing WP Text Ads is less than 4 months.
Since you started with WP Text Ads Free Edition, you might have already earned more than $127 by the time you upgrade to the Standard Edition. Come on, I've bills to pay too. :)
To ensure you have no risk, WP Text Ads comes with an unconditional 180 days money back guarantee. I don't want your money unless WP Text Ads profits you more than it costs.
How do I pay for WP Text Ads, and what happens after my purchase?
You can pay using PayPal or credit card. Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover cards are accepted. A PayPal account is not needed if you are paying by credit card.
You can pay in any of the 4 available currencies - US Dollars, British Pounds, Euros and Singapore Dollars.
After purchase, you will receive an email containing the license key. Enter that license key into WP Text Ads for validation, and WP Text Ads will be able to display unlimited ads.
In case you regret your purchase later, you can always get your money back through the unconditional 180 days money back guarantee. I really don't want your money unless WP Text Ads profits you more than it costs.
Why didn't I receive the license key by email after buying WP Text Ads?
You should have received that email within a few minutes after your purchase. If that didn't happen, check that your email client did not filter it as spam.
Otherwise, I let you down and I'm very sorry. Please contact me to solve this issue. Include the information that was given when you completed your purchase. You can also forward a copy of your PayPal receipt to me.
What do I do if I have problems with WP Text Ads?
Just post at the forums, or use WP Text Ads' built-in feedback form to contact me. The forum is a better option since other people might already have solutions for you. Shy bloggers, please contact me privately. :)
Bloggers who use either the Standard or Free Edition of WP Text Ads enjoy the same support.
Is WP Text Ads open source? What is it licensed under?
You can read the source code of WP Text Ads since it's written in PHP and JavaScript.
The software license is proprietary. A copy of it is included when you download WP Text Ads.
If you spot any bugs or have feature requests, please post to the forum so I can roll it out for everyone's benefit. This is much better than hacking the code as your copy will probably break with a new version.
Should I stop using Adsense, Y!PN and other ad solutions because of WP Text Ads?
No way! That would be insane. You should use WP Text Ads to complement those great advertising solutions.
WP Text Ads addresses issues that some people have, namely the lack of control, long waits for payment and high commissions. But the other guys are fantastic at serving contextual ads and WP Text Ads doesn't do that.
Where's the affiliate program?
Quiz: Are you a big fan of WP Text Ads? Do you go on rambling about how great WP Text Ads is to every blogger you know? Do you actually use WP Text Ads at your blog?
If your answers to those questions are an emphatic 'yes', then an affiliate program is feasible sometime in the future.
It is hard work to operate a top-notch affiliate system. Unless the affiliates are fanatical users of WP Text Ads, I'm not interested to help people promote a product they don't use. That's Just Not Right™.
Can you customize WP Text Ads to run on <insert your blog platform>?
Sorry, I'll have to decline.
I'm dedicated to WordPress because it's the best platform for bloggers. The business and the nice folks who make up the WP Text Ads community are enough rewards for me.
As long as WordPress bloggers continue to support WP Text Ads, I'll be here for a while. There's no need to expand for expansion's sake.
Where can I find WP Text Ads logos for use on my web site?
Glad you asked. They are available here. Feel free to link to the images.
Do you have a mission statement?
You bet I do!
"To assertively foster cutting edge information and authoritatively leverage existing seven-habits-conforming meta-services and APIs to dramatically empower bloggers through the use of cost-effective productivity-boosting synergistic tools so that they can be ultra competitive in tomorrow's world."
